About the role:

As a Data Engineer, you will work on developing and optimizing business-critical SQL queries and building and improving our dbt models, including mart, staging, core, and snapshot models. You will have the opportunity to design data models that handle both historical and current data, as well as implement and optimize Airflow DAGs for scheduled jobs.

You will be responsible for managing releases, migrations, and rollback scripts, as well as troubleshooting data issues and performing root cause analysis. A key part of the job is to collaborate closely with the business to translate requirements into solutions.

Furthermore, you will develop and implement ETL processes from Scandinavian data providers, which means you will play a central role in ensuring that our data solutions are both reliable and efficient.

We are looking for someone who has:

• ·         Excellent knowledge of advanced SQL: CTEs (WITH), Window functions (ROW_NUMBER, RANK, LAG, LEAD, etc.), Complex JOINs, subqueries, and aggregations

• ·         Practical experience with dbt (Data Build Tool): Models, tests, snapshots, and materializations

• ·         Good understanding of data modeling: Data Vault (Hub/Link/Satellite), Star/Snowflake schema, handling of history (SCD Type 2)

• ·         Familiarity with Git

• ·         Strong problem-solving skills and good analytical ability

• ·         Excellent knowledge of Python

• ·         Experience with release and version management in database environments

• ·         Knowledge of code quality tools (SQLFluff, Ruff)

• ·         Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Our work spans across the corporation with international colleagues, and English serves as the daily corporate language.

Preferred qualifications:

• ·         In-depth knowledge of AWS (S3, Glue, IAM, VPC)

• ·         Advanced dbt usage (macros, custom tests, packages)

• ·         Experience with performance optimization in large datasets

• ·         Background in credit, risk, or collections industry

• ·         Familiarity with Cursor as a tool

• ·         Experience with XSLT stylesheets

• ·         Experience with jq

• ·         Experience with Apache Airflow

• ·         Experience with Amazon Redshift:
